Strikes To Cause More Disruption To Train Services From Market Harborough

There will be more disruption to train services from Market Harborough next month.
Drivers will walk out on February 1st and 3rd after the rejection of pay offers, the Aslef and RMT unions have announced.
Previous strikes by drivers has resulted in no services at all being run by East Midlands Railway, although the company is yet to confirm the impact the new dates will have.
His Aslef counterpart, Mick Whelan, said: “The offer is not acceptable but we are willing to engage in further discussions with the train operating companies.
“They want to rip up our terms and conditions in return for a real-term pay cut. It was clearly a rushed offer, made just before our meeting with the minister, and not one, it seems to me, that was designed to be accepted.”
Workers at 15 train operating companies across the country will be part of the action.
