‘Legal Issue’ Over Phone Mast Set To Hamper Community Garden Plan

A legal issue surrounding a mobile phone mast could hold-up any potential plan to create a new community garden in Market Harborough town centre.

Harborough District Council has pledged to look further into the idea, after a petition signed by over 300 people was presented, but stressed the issue has so-far held up any re-development of the overgrown area it owns off Northampton Road.

A coach park had previously been planned for the site, adjacent to the Market Hall car park.

Volunteers have pledged to help create and maintain the ‘Jubilee Garden’, which would also act as a lasting tribute to her late Majesty the Queen.
