Driver Injured After Crash In Desborough

A driver was injured after a crash involving a car and flat bed van in Desborough this afternoon.

It happened on the B576 Rothwell Road at the Lower Street junction just before 2pm.

The female driver of the Mini convertible car was trapped in the car and released by firefighters, who removed the roof.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service told HFM: “Firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle in order to safely rescue the person, and they were left in the care of paramedics.

“Crews handed over management of the scene to police and left the incident shortly before 3pm.”

The road was closed in both directions for over an hour while the incident was dealt with.
