Environmental Campaigners Hold Protest In Market Harborough

Around 80 environmental campaigners held a protest in Market Harborough on Saturday.
Armed with placards and chanting, people of all ages joined the action outside the Old Grammar School.
It was part of Global Day Of Action calling on governments to act more quickly to tackle climate change.

Julie Fagan, a volunteer with the Sustainable Harborough community group, which helped organise the protest said: “During the course of the afternoon, about 80 people came along while people across the road stopped to look at what we were saying, seeming to agree.
“We are in a crisis and our Government and local council are taking too long to respond. We hope our actions help them to get a move on urgently!
