Highways Officers Request More Details About Planned New Aldi Store

Highway officers have requested further details about how a planned new Aldi store in Market Harborough will impact traffic.
The officials at Leicestershire County Council are as yet unable to say whether what is proposed is acceptable.
The discount retailer submitted a planning application earlier this year to build the new store off Rockingham Road at the Gores Lane junction, which if given the go-ahead, would replace the existing supermarket on Springfield Street.
Highways officers have been consulted as part of the planning process, before Harborough District Council considers the plan.
A document sent by them to the Council reads: “The Local Highway Authority does not consider that the application as submitted fully assesses the highway impact of the proposed development and further information is required as set out in this response.
“Without this information the Local Highway Authority is unable to provide final highway advice on this application.”
