Opposition To Council’s Plan To Join Forces With Another Authority

The plan for Harborough District Council to join forces with Melton Borough Council to share senior staff and potentially more services has moved forward.
The authority’s Cabinet last night voted for a business case to be prepared on the idea at a cost of £50,000, before a final decision is made.
The ruling Conservative administration say it would help cut costs and share expertise.
But Cllr Phil Knowles, leader of the opposition Liberal Democrats, says his group will not support it:
