Further rail strikes has been called for next month which will severely disrupt services from Market Harborough.

Train drivers at East Midlands Railway who are members of the ASLEF union will walkout on Wednesday October 5th in their on-going dispute over pay.

The action will follow a strike on October 1st, which was called by the RMT Union earlier this week and a further walkout on October 8th, announced today.

Speaking of the October 5th action, East Midlands Railway said: “ASLEF represents train drivers and therefore this strike action will have an extremely significant impact on the level of service which we are able to operate.

“We will provide more information on train services for the 5 October as soon as possible.”

In terms of the walk-out on October 1st, the spokesperson added: ” This will see a significant reduction in services but we expect to run a similar timetable compared to previous strike days. This will also see a slight reduction in service in the early morning on Sunday 2 October.”
