In the wake of Leicestershire Police’s FATAL4 operation in Market Harborough yesterday Thursday 18th August) – which saw fifteen fines handed out for seat belt offences and three for drivers using hand held mobile phones behind the wheel – Northamptonshire Police are focusing on serious and organised crime this week. This includes fraud, modern slavery, trafficking, drugs gangs and cybercrime – which the Force says damages thousands of lives every year. It’s concerned young people in the county are particularly vulnerable to manipulation and exploitation by criminal groups. This week Northamptonshire officers are specifically targeting people who are involved in these crimes – while also taking measures to make our local communities a more hostile environment for these gangs. You’re asked to report any concerns about such criminal activity via 101 – or anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
