Building work underway at Welland Park Academy

Building work has just started on the new £1.4m sports centre and canteen at Welland Park Academy

It comes nearly two years after Section 106 funding from housing development was granted by Harborough District Council – which will also
pay for two new classrooms to be built there.

The new, state-of-the-art facilities will see the dining room doubled in size – allowing 300 pupils to be seated at once.

Work to replace the school’s old buildings, dating from the 1930s, is due to be completed in January
