Market Harborough Tip Now Closed On Thursdays & Fridays

People can no longer use Market Harborough tip on Thursday and Fridays.
The Household Waste and Recycling facility on Riverside has been available every day for the last six months, but from today the five-day a week opening has been reinstated.
The extended opening was made to compensate for the closure of Kibworth Tip, which is being re-vamped, although Leicestershire County Council says it needs to free-up staff to man another site which has re-opened in the Melton area.
Cllr Blake Pain, cabinet member for the environment and the green agenda, said: “Unfortunately, we are still at the mercy of national pressures on recruitment of operatives and drivers, so when we make a change to waste opening in one part of the county it has a knock-on effect in another.”
“We are doing everything we can to overcome recruitment problems, but the situation is still difficult.
