Search for history of U.S. soldiers stationed locally during WW2

A Market Harborough man is helping an American visitor to trace thehistory of US soldiers who were stationed in our area during the SecondWorld War.Bill Bromahay, who’s a retired detective from Arizona, will be cominghere for a week from next Tuesday (3rd of May) to carry out furtherresearch.Bill’s father was billeted in the Harborough District during 1944 and1945 at Papillon Hall near Lubenham – as a member of the 82nd AirborneDivision training here for D-Day.Dave Allen has his own personal connections with that period and hopesother HFM listeners will, too.If you can help out Dave with any local wartime recollections, you’reasked to get in touch with him on 07812 575 171 or by emailingdave.allen1@ntlworld.com.
