There have been five crashes in five days on a 15-mile stretch of the A14 in the Hfm Region.

The latest happened during yesterday evening’s rush hour, when several vehicles were involved in a collision on the eastbound carriageway near Welford.

Police say no-one was injured in that incident, although two people were taken to hospital following other crashes this week, between the the M1/M6 junction and the A6 Rothwell/Desborough turn at junction 3.

The driver of a lorry which crashed through the central reservation and overturned on the opposite carriageway on Monday escaped with minor injures and no other vehicles were involved.
