Welland Park Toilets To Get Major Refurbishment

Written by on 31st March 2022

The toilets in Market Harborough’s Welland Park are to be given a major refurbishment.

The improvements, costing nearly £190,000, will include creating improved changing space for children and young adults with disabilities.

The toilet block in Welland Park will be refurbished

Harborough District Council will fund the work through money provided by housing developers, to improve community facilities, and the organisation Changing Places, which campaigns to make toilet facilities accessible to all.

Cllr Jonathan Bateman, Cabinet lead for parks and open spaces, said he was delighted the Council has secured funding to invest in a much-needed overhaul of the toilet block, to ensure the popular park, and its facilities, are more inclusive for users.

The improvement work is set to be carried out later this year.
