Young Woman Fights Off Man Trying To Steal Her Car

A young woman has fought off a man who was trying to steal her car near Lutterworth.

The attempted theft happened at around 7pm yesterday on Ashby Road, Ullesthorpe, when she pulled over after the driver of a car travelling behind had continuously flashed its lights.

A man from that vehicle then approached her white Mini Cooper and opened the passenger door, with other men getting out of the other car.

Police say the woman was able to fight him off to drive away and was not injured.

Officers have today recovered the other car involved, a black Mini, believed to be stolen, in the Lutterworth area.

Enquiries are continuing into the incident and officers are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.

Sergeant Ryan Coleman said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“The victim has understandably been left very shaken and we continue to maintain contact with her throughout the investigation.

“We are appealing to anyone who has any information in relation to this incident, and who has not yet spoken with us, to make contact with us.”
