Written by HFM News on 17th August 2021
The shocking rape and murder of a pensioner from Fleckney and how detectives caught her killer is to feature in a TV documentary.
How the appalling crime affected the community will also form part of the episode of ‘Killer In My Village.’
Jane Hings, who was 72, was killed at her home in Elizabeth Road in September 2017 by Craig Keogh, who was 26 at the time.
Keogh, who also lived in Fleckney, was jailed for a minimum of 32 years the following year.
The documentary will include interviews with Detective Sergeant Andy Spence from Leicestershire Police, who investigated the case, Pathologist Stuart Hamilton, Michelle Wright, who was one of Jane’s close friends, and villagers from Fleckney.
Some of Hfm’s news coverage from the time will also be used in the episode, which will air on Sky Crime next Wednesday at 9pm.
