A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Illston on the Hill yesterday.
The woman in her 30s was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance after the crash on Gaulby Road at around 4.15pm.
The male driver of the car, a black Mercedes SLK, wasn’t hurt.
Detectives from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses and for anyone with dashcam footage from around the area at the time to contact them.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hawkins, from the SCIU, said: “Our investigation to understand what happened is continuing and I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either the cyclist or Mercedes beforehand.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who was travelling between New Road and Gaulby Road shortly after 4pm – particularly any motorists with a dashcam in their vehicle or anyone who stopped at the scene following the collision.
“Anything you’re able to provide, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could help.”
