Public Meeting Held Over Anti-Social Behaviour At Little Bowden Rec

Police have pledged to continue to deal with those causing anti-social behaviour at Little Bowden Recreation Ground.

A public meeting held last night heard the park had become a no-go zone for some residents at times, due to the rowdy actions of a minority of people using the area.

Concerns were raised about under-age drinking, drug misuse and excessive noise.

Police said letters have been sent to parents of youngsters who have caused problems and tougher action would follow if the bad behaviour continued.

Harborough District Council also announced plans to employ a young persons officers to engage with young people and the formation of a park users group.

New CCTV will also be installed, and regular ‘Beat Walks’ organised where residents can talk directly about issues with Police and Council officials.

The Council is also to consider opening the toilets at the park for longer into the evening on a trial basis, following complaints of people urinating in public.
