Plan For New Harborough Business Park ‘Withdrawn’

Written by on 13th May 2021

Plans for a new business park on the outskirts of Market Harborough have been withdrawn.

They were lodged with Harborough District Council last month, with a mix of six office, business and warehouse units included in the scheme for land off Leicester Road, stretching towards the canal, plus space for the relocation of a town-based business.

No reason has been given as to why the plan is not progressing, although Harborough District Council’s Conservation Officer had lodged an objection to the proposal, earmarked for land close to the Forest Gate garage.

In a consultation document, they said the development would have ‘a harmful impact on the character and appearance of the Grand Union Canal Conservation area’, which it would have backed onto.
