Hope For Harborough’s Peacocks Store After Buyer Found

Written by on 6th April 2021

There is hope for the future of Market Harborough’s Peacocks shop, after the fashion chain was bought out of administration.

The deal will save 2,000 jobs and around half of the firm’s 400 stores – although it has yet to be confirmed which ones and if the High Street shop is included.

A senior executive has snapped up the retailer, with backing from a consortium of international investors, following its collapse last November, blamed on ‘brutal’ trading conditions.

The stores saved are expected to start trading again next week, when non-essential retail is allowed to re-open.
