Drunk Teens Treated By Ambulance Crews

Two teenage girls were so drunk they had to be treated by ambulance crews at Little Bowden Recreation Ground last night.

Police called paramedics after becoming concerned for their welfare – both, one of whom was aged 16, were treated at the scene.

Officers also took two other youngsters home, because they were in such an intoxicated state, officers were concerned for their safety.

Patrols were stepped up at the park, as well as parks in Kibworth, following problems on Wednesday night.

Those causing anti-social behaviour after 10pm were disbursed.

Litter was left strewn across the park, with volunteers picking it up this morning for the second day running.

Police are urging parents to ensure they know where their children are.

A spokesman said: “Please check where your children are, are they getting drunk? We all probably tried alcohol when we were young, but some are so drunk they cannot look after themselves, they were going to walk significant distances home.

“Please think of others, whilst most are using the park legally and enjoying freedom, large groups cause noise and it upsets people who can hear the noise in their homes.

“Please encourage people to take litter with them, be careful with glass.

“If Harborough District Council clear the mess up it costs us all money and they are diverted from normal work, but thanks to all volunteers that have been helping.”
