Warning Over Scam Email To Businesses & Farmers About Covid Spot-Checks
Written by HFM News on 20th March 2021
Business owners and farmers across the Hfm Region are being warned about a scam email, claiming to be from Health and Safety Executive (HSE) inspectors.
A number have received one in the past week – it says inspectors are to visit their premises to perform a spot-check, to ensure Covid-19 safety measures are being adhered to.
Harborough District Council is warning people who get such an email, with the signatory as ‘Mark J Burrows’. to delete it and not click on any links or open any attachments.
Although the Council is working with the HSE to carry out checks at business premises, these are ‘unannounced’ and business would never be contacted in this way.
The National Farmers’ Union has issued a similar warning, after some of its members received the email.
HSE will never send emails regarding business inspections and if necessary will call the relevant person.
