Song Backs Harborough Charity’s Snowdrop Appeal
Written by HFM News on 18th February 2021
A song has been created to support a Market Harborough charity’s Snowdrop Appeal.
Local Singer/Songwriter Bob Renwick penned ‘Holding Up The Ones You Love’ to accompany the Home-Start Leicestershire initiative.
The charity, which supports young families in need, hopes to raise £1,000 by the end of February, which will give ten families a month of support, and wants people to download the track and make a donation.
Bob’s wife Stella is the development manager at Home-Start:
Homestart supports about 130 local families a year, including those facing difficulties both as new parents, and parents with complex situations in their lives, ranging from financial crises, managing mental or physical ill health, and living with disabilities.
Although it’s face-to-face work has had to stop because of the pandemic, support is instead being offered virtually.
The Snopdrop appeal is also encouraging people to share pictures of snowdrops, the flower which is often viewed as a symbol of hope and resilience.
