Woman & Teenager Admit Wrecking Spree

Two vandals who went on a wrecking spree in Market Harborough have paid for the damage they caused and sent letters of apology.

Christmas decorations, garden items and some cars were damaged outside several homes in streets off Coventry Road in the early hours of December 6th, including wires to festive lights being cut.

A woman aged 20 and 16-year-old boy were identified from CCTV and Police have dealt with them by means of a community resolution, an option available to officers when people admit certain offences and show remorse, instead of being charged and going to Court.

Sergeant Darren Richardson, deputy NPA commander, said: “I would like to thank everyone who came forward and provided us with information that has allowed the issue to be resolved.

“Both people we spoke to showed remorse for their actions and a decision was made to offer a community resolution.

“We have spoken to those whose possessions were damaged and they are satisfied with this outcome.”

Damage was caused outside homes in Gardiner Street, Morley Street, Highfield Street, Wartnaby Street, Logan Street, Clarke Street, Highcross Street and East Street.
