Coronavirus Cases Falling, But Still Above National Average

Latest figures show Harborough has the 72^nd highest weekly Coronavirus rate of 315 local authority areas in England.

Despite the district appearing in the top half of the list, the number of people testing positive for Covid-19 here has started to drop.

There were 276 new cases recorded in the week to November 19th, compared with 301 in the previous seven days.

But the infection rate – now at 294 cases per 100,000 people – is still above the national average – along with the rest of Leicestershire.

A decision will be taken tomorrow on which tier of restrictions the county will fall into once the lockdown ends – many expect Leicester and Leicestershire to be in at least Tier 2 if not higher.
