The Royal British Legion is urging people to think about the significance of the 75th anniversary of VJ Day tomorrow after having to cancel a ceremony in Market Harborough because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The surrender of Japan marked the end of the Second World War on August 15th 1945.
Stewart Harrison, Chairman of town’s branch of the Legion, told Hfm about the importance of marking the anniversary and says wreaths will still be laid on the War Memorial on the The Square:
Hfm will be observing the national two minute silence to remember and give thanks to all those who served in the Far East at 11am tomorrow.
