Harborough Leisure Centre To Re-Open On Saturday

Written by on 29th July 2020

Leisure Centres in Market Harborough and Lutterworth will re-open on Saturday after being shut for four months.

Initially gyms and group exercise sessions will be available, with pools re-opening on August 20th for bookable lane swimming.

Swimming lessons will re-start on August 22nd.

The announcement comes after Harborough Council agreed to provide cash support to operator Everyone Active, whose finances have been badly impacted by the Coronavirus shutdown.

Cllr Simon Whelband, Cabinet lead for Wellbeing, Communities & Housing, spoke to Hfm:

Matt Hopkin, Everyone Active’s contract manager, said: “We’d like to reassure all customers that we have implemented strict measures to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our centres.

“This information can be found on the Everyone Active website and we would ask everyone to familiarise themselves with this detail prior to attending the centre.

“We will be in touch with all our customers in the coming days with further information on the reopening of their local leisure centre. We’ve been overwhelmed by the local support we have received whilst we’ve been closed and we thank everyone for their patience whilst we work to get the centres reopened.”
