MP Issues Stark Warning Over Coronavirus

Harborough’s MP has issued a stark warning to those ignoring government advice on social distancing because of Coronavirus, saying it is a matter of life or death.

The government’s considering bringing in tougher measure in a bid to keep people apart and will look at introducing new emergency powers later.

Large crowds flocked to parks and seaside resorts over the weekend – ignoring official advice to avoid unnecessary journeys, and stay two metres apart.

Neil O’Brien told Hfm it’s an extremely serious situation with some people not taking the pandemic seriously enough:

Updated figures show 43 people in Leicestershire & 21 in Northamptonshire have Covid-19, although those numbers could be much higher as only those in hospital or who have had to visit their GP are included.
