Events Cancelled & Groups Not Meeting Due To Coronavirus

The Coronavirus outbreak has led to the cancellation of a number of events and regular club and group meetings across the Harborough District.

Little Bowden 2002 club – April and May meetings cancelled

Market Harborough Carnival – cancelled

Leicestershire County Show, Market Harborough – cancelled

The FoxFestival due to be held over weekend of 20th and 21st June at the Showground has been postponed until further notice.

All Market Harborough Swimming Club activities are cancelled until further notice.

Kibworth Community Library – all  groups and events cancelled with immediate effect, and the library is closed for the foreseeable future. Online services are available.

Shopmobility Market Harborough’s Office at Roman Way Community Centre is closed until further notice. However, the charity will endeavor to keep the service running providing mobility scooters and wheelchairs for hire if required.  Call 0116 305 2343 or e-mail us mhshopmobility@gmail.com

Leicestershire Libraries – From 18th March 2020 all libraries will be closed with the exception of Coalville, Loughborough, Oadby, Wigston Magna, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray and Hinckley. These libraries will be kept under review. ALL events, activities, adult learning classes and clubs usually held in the libraries have been cancelled until further notice.

HFM Monthly Quiz – our monthly quiz due to take place on Wednesday 1st April at the Angel Hotel is cancelled

Craft and Shopping event fundraiser for the Summer Fayre at the Three Swans that was due to be held on Saturday 2nd May has  been rescheduled to Saturday 1st August.

Old Union Canals Society – meeting scheduled for Friday 27th March has regrettably been cancelled

Songbirds Ladies Choir  -rehearsals cancelled until after Easter

Home Instead’s Friendship Lunches -held monthly at The Royalist pub in Market Harborough are concelled until further notice.

Kilworth House Theatre – productions of Carousel and Half a Sixpence cancelled

Hallaton Bottlekicking – For only the second time in its history of over 200 years, the Easter Monday event has been cancelled. – Organisers have declared this year’s result a draw.

Inner Wheel of Kibworth and Fleckney Fashion Show – the fashion show in aid of GEMS due to take place on Wednesday 25th March has been cancelled

Training Shed – closed for 2 weeks, they are launching a free online service

Circus Mondeo – planned performances at Market Harborough Showground this week cancelled.

Rotary Club of Market Harborough – all meetings suspended until further notice.

Market Harborough and The Bowdens Charity – in light of the corona virus the Market Harborough and the Bowdens Charity office has been closed from today. However, they will continue our normal work. All current grant applications will be processed and you can still apply for grants. Girl Guides – all Girlguiding meetings are suspended until further notice

Langton Community Hall will be fully closed until further notice from 8am on Saturday and & meeting organisers have been asked to cancel all remaining events this week if at all possible.

R.A.F.A. – monthly lunches have been cancelled until further notice

Harborough Town Football Club – all matches, training & events at the club suspended until further notice.

Market Harborough Rugby Club – all rugby activity suspended and the clubhouse will be closed for all rugby-related events until April 14th.

Market Harborough Photographic Society have suspended meetings at Meadowdale Primary School until further notice.

Market Harborough Breathe Easy Group – meetings cancelled until further notice.

TS Fernie Market Harborough Sea Cadets – meetings cancelled until further notice.

Dementia Harborough – Coffee Mornings at Casa Nostra on 18th & 25th March & 1st & 8th April cancelled.  ‘Singing for Memories’ event on April 7th cancelled.

Market Harborough Welcome Club – Meetings cancelled until further notice.

Bowden Cricket Club’s Race Night on April 4th is cancelled.

The Market Harborough & District Canine Society have cancelled all club nights until further notice.

Market Harborough WI – All meetings & social events in March & April cancelled.

Market Harborough Hockey Club – all club activity suspended.

The Market Harborough Gymnastics Club will not be meeting until further notice

Great Bowden Music Fest has cancelled performances for local schools of ‘Peter and the Wolf’ due to take place on March 20th.
