Storm Brings Flooding Across Hfm Region

Heavy rain from Storm Dennis has brought flooding to many part of the Hfm region.

Some back-roads are impassable as a result, and standing water is causing a hazard on more major roads, including the A6 and B6047.

Farndon Road, Lubenham is impassable because of flooding

Both Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service’s are urging drivers not to attempt to drive through flood water, after being called to several incidents where people got trapped in vehicles.

Flood Alerts are in place for the River Welland in Market Harborough & surrounding villages, the River Jordan between Braybrooke & Market Harborough and the River Sence in the Great Glen area, after water levels rose.

There has also been flooding in Welland Park, Market Harborough, with paths adjacent to the river underwater today.

Several trees were also brought down by the storm, including on the A427 near Dingley on Saturday evening.
