Men Convicted Of Cross-County Drugs Plot

Men from Houghton on the Hill and Bushby are among 23 people to be convicted of involvement in a major cross-county drugs plot.

Detectives mounted an operation last summer to target those involved in supplying drugs across Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Liverpool, executing over 50 warrants.

Ashley Boyd, 34, of Chapel Close, Houghton on the Hill, has admitted conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs, and produce cannabis at Leicester Crown Court.

Jacob Chetwynd, 28, of Main Street, Bushby, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

They will be sentenced later this month.

Detective Inspector Lee Hunt from East Midlands Special Operations Unit said: “These outcomes are a testament to the hard work of those officers and staff who have been involved in this large scale and complex investigation.

“Those convicted ran a business-like operation and they all had a key role to play in the supply of controlled drugs onto the streets.”
