New Home Demolished Over ‘Quality’ Concerns

Written by on 31st January 2020

One of the first new houses being built on a new affordable homes site in Market Harborough has been demolished.

Waterloo Housing says its builder was not satisfied with the quality of the walls constructed and as a result the shell of the house has been flattened and will be re-built.

Seventeen homes, with a mix of one to four bedrooms, will be built on the site off Leicester Road, and made available for rent or shared ownership.

It follows the demolition of flats, formally the Rosehill children’s home.

Waterloo says such action is a common occurrence on any building site.
