An archive of Thomas Cook is to be preserved in Leicestershire.
It contains thousands of records from the earliest days of package travel, right through til modern day, plus 60,000 photos and souvenirs from the firm’s 178-year history.

Some of the collection
The company’s founder lived in Market Harborough when he organised his first excursion back in 1841.
The collection will be thoroughly achieved by staff at Leicestershire County Council’s Records office in Wigston, before being made available for public viewing
A home for it was sought after Thomas Cook collapsed and ceased trading last September.
