Severn Trent Water has pledged to act after safety concerns were raised about its contractors’ compound on Rockingham Road in Market Harborough.

Pedestrians have been forced to walk in the road when construction vehicles have been parked on the pavement adjacent to it.
Heavy plant machinery has also been pictured in use very close to where people are walking past.

The area is being used to store materials and take them to and from where work to replace water pipes across the town is taking place.
A Severn Trent spokesman told Hfm: “We’re really sorry for the inconvenience caused by a third-party delivery vehicle on Rockingham Road today. We took action immediately to remove it and reminded our contractor about what is expected of them in the future, regarding safety and maintaining access for people living and working in the area.”
