12 Arrests In First Week Of Campaign

Twelve people have been arrested in the first week of Leicestershire Police’s Christmas drink and drug drive campaign.

Four drivers were arrested for being under the influence of cannabis or cocaine behind the wheel and three of the arrests were made following crashes.

One driver was over four times the legal drink drive limit when they were stopped.

Four of those caught were aged under 24.

Northamptonshire Police has launched its campaign in the run-up to Christmas today and will be publicly naming all those charged.
