Fines For Irresponsible Dogs Owners Set To Continue

dog foulingThe threat of fines for irresponsible dog owners is set to continue across the Harborough district.

It follows consultation, which showed strong public support for the legislation, which targets those who don’t clear up after their pets, don’t carry poop bags, or fail to put dogs on leads when directed by a Council official.

Councillors will be asked to approve the three-year extension to the Public Place Protection Order at a meeting next week.

Latest figures show there have been over 120 complaints about dog fouling in the District during the past year – the highest number since records began.
