Burglars Steal Cash From Shop

Burglars have escaped with cash after they forced their way into a Market Harborough shop last night.

The raid happened at Wilko, in St Mary’s Place, just before 9pm, when the intruders forced a door at the back of the store, located in the Market Car Park, off Northampton Road.

Police say they were alerted when the burglar alarm went off.

Officers are appealing for information and want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious people or vehicles in the car park area around the time.

A Wilko spokesperson told Hfm: “Sadly there was a break in last night and as a result there was a bit of damage to the store. We’re working to put it right as quickly as possible, but we’d like to apologise to all the hardworking families in the area for any inconvenience today.”

About an hour before the break-in Police had responded to an alarm sounding at another shop near-by, although no entry had been gained to it.
