Appeal After ‘Hit & Run’ In Market Harborough

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a ‘hit and run’ incident in Market Harborough this afternoon.

The woman, is her 60s, was knocked off her bike by a car – thought to have been a red Ford Focus – at the junction of Coventry Road and Farndon Road, outside the Spar Shop, just after 1.30pm.

The driver didn’t stop, leaving her lying in the road before members of the public went to her aid and alerted emergency services.

The woman was treated at the scene by the ambulance service before being taken to Kettering General Hospital with injuries Police say are ‘non life-threatening’.

Officers are thanking all those who provided help at the scene, including staff from the Spar shop and a near-by resident, who provided blankets and a pillow to keep the casualty comfortable until ambulance crews arrived.
