Harborough Falls Silent For Armistice Day

Armistice Day was marked in Market Harborough with a ceremony on The Square this morning, by the entrance to the Memorial Gardens.

Members of the Royal British Legion joined other dignitaries and representatives from Harborough Council for the Act of Remembrance and two minutes silence, the start and end marked with the firing of a maroon.

Wreaths were placed on the gates, as well as two ‘poppy crosses’ made by youngsters from the Market Harborough C of E Academy, containing their own messages on.

A good crowd gathered for the ceremony, which followed a big turnout for yesterday’s Remembrance event in Market Harborough.
