Man’s Death ‘Non-Suspicious’

Police say the death of a man found outside a property in Market Harborough is not suspicious.
It follows an investigation that was launched after he was discovered in Symington Way, just before 9am on Sunday, and pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers had been treating the death as ‘unexplained’ until they were able to establish how he died, which included a forensic investigation at the scene, and have now passed a file to the coroner.
Leicestershire Police says it has has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in connection with a phone call that was made to them before the man was discovered.
A spokesman said: “Prior to the man being found, we received a call from a member of the public reporting hearing strange noises near her property.
“Officers attended and no-one was located in the area. Therefore as a result, a mandatory referral has been made to the IOPC.
