Sudden Death Of Detective

Leicestershire Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct after the death of one of its most senior detectives.
Det Ch Insp Rob Widdowson died on Monday afternoon, just hours after being interviewed by the force over a fraud allegation.
The circumstances surrounding his death near Syston are being investigated by British Transport Police.
The tragic news of DCI Widdowson’s death was announced to his colleagues yesterday.
