Distraction Thief Targets Salon

A warning is being issued after a distraction thief stole a mobile phone from a hair salon in Market Harborough yesterday.
The man went into Charlotte Frances in Northampton Road at about 12.20pm and distracted customers and staff by asking to use a pen.
He then stole a customer’s phone from the reception area by using a newspaper he had in his hand to block their view.
The phone, a Samsung Galaxy, contained sentimental pictures and the theft has left the owner very upset.
Staff say the man said he could not speak much English, he is described as being about 5ft 7” tall, of skinny build, with a neat black beard and black hair.
A CCTV image of him, taken from a neighbouring premises, has been released to Hfm
Anyone who may have seen the phone discarded or has any information is urged to call Police on 101, quoting Crime Reference 19000288442.
