£100,000 Secured For New Skate Park

£100,000 has been secured for a new skatepark in Kibworth.
Cash from developers who have built in the Kibworths will pay for the facility, after it was obtained by the Parish Councils.
It can’t go up on the parks they own, because access for construction traffic would prove difficult and it would be too close to residential areas, so another site will have to be found.
The search is on for people to join a group to find a location for the skatepark and help design it.
A spokesman for Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council said: “Residents young and old who are skateboarders or have an enthusiasm for skateparks, can play a key role in finding a suitable site and drawing up a design.
“The group will be free to decide its constitution and to seek grants from other funding agencies.”
Anyone interested in joining is invited to contact the Parish Clerk by clicking HERE .
A previous skatepark at the Warwick Road Recreation Ground closed in 2017 because of vandalism.
