£1.1m Upgrade For Flats Scheme

Work to transform an Independent Living Scheme in Great Glen into new specialist accommodation for adults with disabilities will begin later this month.

Leicestershire County Council bought the Brookfield site off Waterloo Housing Group last year and will spend £1.1m on the upgrade.

The refurbished building will create 20 flats and a communal area and remove bedsits that are no longer fit for purpose.

It’s hoped the first new residents will move in this winter.
