Fears Foodbank Could Shut

Volunteers working at the Foodbank in Market Harborough fear that they may have to shut down completely if the shortage of food continues.
It’s been struggling to cope with the demand for the service, which has seen over 1,500 meals supplied to families in need this month alone.
Shortages of certain food and a decline in donations during a demanding Easter break, have meant supplies could run out in a matter of weeks.
Latest figures show 1,725 people were helped last year – an increase of 54% on 2017, when 1,115 people were supported.
The Jubilee Foodbank provided 15,525 meals in 2018, compared to 10,035 the year before.
