Parking Machines Go Cashless
Written by HFM News on 24th April 2019
Some parking machines in Market Harborough now only accept card payments.
Harborough Council has stopped coins being used in three at the Sainsbury’s Car Park on Springfield Street and two in the Commons Car Park.
Bosses hope it will reduce the risk of them being targeted by thieves, as well as saving on the cost of emptying them.
A spate of raids on machines last year cost the authority over £21,000 in repairs and saw just under £3,000 stolen.
