The Environment Secretary Michael Gove has signed the Harborough Plastics Pledge alongside MP Neil O’Brien.
The pledge, that was launched by the Harborough Eco Church in January, encourages people to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics including reusing plastic bags, buying loose vegetables instead of those in packs and recycling more.
Mr Gove has joined over 500 locals who have already put their name to the pledge, including 146 who signed it at an event in the town centre last weekend.
