Key Route To Shut For Four Months

Major work to lay new water pipes across Market Harborough will start next week.
The first phase of the £2m project will be on Rockingham Road, between the railway bridge and Valley Way, although there will be no impact on traffic.
At the end of this month, work will begin on Kettering Road, where it will be made one-way for four months, will traffic only being able to travel out of town towards the A6 from the Gores Lane junction.
As the work moves down Kettering Road, the junctions with Ashley Way and Sandringham Way will be closed and there will be a full closure between Stablegate Way and Jordan Close.
Three miles of aging metal pipes will be replaced, some over 60 years old in places, with new plastic ones.
It will take a year to complete the work and it will see various other road closures, including Rockingham Road shutting for seven weeks over the summer at the railway bridge.
Temporary lights will also be in use in various areas.
