New Plea After Fire Engine Blocked

A new plea is being issued after a fire engine was unable to get along Adam and Eve Street in Market Harborough due to a badly parked van.

It’s the third time in two months firefighters have raised concerns – after twice being blocked from getting down Logan Street.
Luckily they weren’t responding to an emergency call during the latest incident, although had they been vital minutes would have been lost in getting to the scene.
Andrew Brodie, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s assistant chief fire officer, says vehicles will be barged out of the way if necessary.
He is warning that lives won’t be lost to spare people’s paint work if residents can’t park considerately.
He said: “If push come to shove, pushing and shoving it is.”
