‘Incredible Response’ To Fox Fundraiser

Hundreds of pounds has been raised to pay for vet bills as Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital continues to care for a fox found impaled on a metal fence.

The Kibworth-based charity launched a crowdfunding appeal last week and within days the £800 target was reached, with the total now standing at over £900.

The male fox was rescued by staff with the help of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service, after it was discovered in Leicester last month.

Although the spike had gone through the muscle of his back left leg, an X-ray confirmed no bones had been broken.

The fox is continuing to recover well and will soon be moved to a larger area at the hospital, ahead of being released back into the wild.

The charity says the response to the appeal has been ‘incredible’ and has thanked everyone who donated.

The extra funds raised will be used for the fox’s food costs and towards the care of other animals.
