Religious Festival Returns To Market Harborough Showground

A big religious festival for members of the gypsy and traveller community returns to Market Harborough Showground this weekend.
Around 3,000 people in about 1,000 caravans are set to attend the five-day Light and Life Christian convention, which is returning for a second year and starts on Sunday.
The event will include church and prayer meetings in a large marquee alongside children’s events, gospel music and song, and Bible study groups.
John Boyd is one of the organisers and told HFM he is pleased the festival could return to Market Harborough:

Festival-goers will start arriving tomorrow morning.
Harborough District Council has held meetings with businesses in the run-up to the event after authorities were criticised last year for not giving them enough notice to put plans in place, to cope with the potential of extra customers.
Police and councils have also put plans in place.
